If you are considering a cosmetic procedure, it is important to do some research about the doctor so you are aware of his areas of expertise, education and credentials. Your physician should be board certified in his area or areas of expertise.
Your consultation appointment is the best time to get a feel for the doctor’s bedside manner and professional level of the staff. Depending on what procedures you are interested in, the consultation will be the perfect time to learn from the doctor what in-office procedures are performed by him or his staff and their level of training. Dr. Wolpoe does all of the patient consultations and follow-up visits. For in-office procedures that are performed by other staff members, Dr. Wolpoe sees those patients after the treatments to evaluate and discuss the outcome of those treatments and ensure patient satisfaction.
It is important to feel comfortable with the doctor and ask any and all questions you have about the procedure(s) you are interested in. During your consultation your doctor will explain the procedures to you and help you decide if you are a good candidate for those procedures. If you are interested in several procedures, you may be able to do them all at one time or in stages. Your doctor can help you decide what to start with.
Sometimes patients are unsure what procedure to start with but they know they want to look more youthful and feel more confident. If this is the case, it might be a good idea to ask yourself what bothers you the most. It will be important to ask yourself what your aesthetic goals are and communicate that to your physician. During your consultation, your doctor will examine your skin texture, health history, and facial structure to recommend the best procedures for you.
After your consultation, you will have an opportunity to discuss fees for the procedures you are interested in as well as financing options.
