Research Center
The Billings Clinic Research Center is the largest hospital-based clinical research unit for 600 miles. The facility, with over 22,000 square feet, was completed in 2002. Before this time, the Research Center was located on Poly Drive and founded in 1988.
Goals of the Research Center
The overall goal is to bring the benefits of the newest medical research to patients and their physicians in the Billings area, and to provide a medical research focus that is both clinical and laboratory-based. Howard R. Knapp, M.D., Ph.D. is the Vice President of Research.
Scope of Research
-
The center is involved in phase I, II, III, and IV clinical trials in human participants. For a more complete description of each phase of testing, click here .

The Research Center is the leading referral site for DEXA (bone density) scans, which are performed daily.
-
Patients needing highly specialized lipid expertise or highly unusual high blood pressure can receive treatment here.
-
Each Spring, over 500 students from 24 counties have an opportunity to compete in a sanctioned and regional science fair through our Science Expo.
