Transitional Care Unit
Billings Clinic Hospital's Transitional Care Unit (TCU) bridges the gap between your hospital stay and return home. Patients in our TCU need less intense care than provided in a traditional hospital setting and more intense care than offered in a skilled nursing facility.
Located on Billings Clinic Hospital's fourth floor, the TCU accommodates up to 28 patients. The TCU has been designed and decorated to feel like home. Amenities include all private rooms with bathrooms and showers, a physical and occupational rehabilitation area, and several lounges including one with a fireplace. Patients are encouraged to bring personal items to make their stay more comfortable. The main dining room allows patients to share meals with family members, friends and other residents.
Our TCU provides the resources of an accredited hospital for patients who need frequent testing, regular observation and physical monitoring. A physician referral is required for TCU admission.
The TCU is under the direction of Billings Clinic long-term care physician, Dr. Patricia Coon. RNs provide 24-hour care. The staff also includes LPNs, CNAs and a social worker.
