Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet is a clinical study of relatives of individuals who have Type 1 diabetes. The primary purpose of the study is to determine if these family members are at risk for developing Type 1 diabetes.
Billings Clinic is considered a screening site for this clinical study. Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet is a part of network of researchers dedicated to the study, prevention, and early treatment of type 1 diabetes. TrialNet does studies to:
- Learn more about the factors that put some people at risk for developing diabetes
- Test treatments that could help delay or prevent diabetes, and
- Test treatments that might help people keep producing their own insulin when they are first diagnosed with diabetes. of 18 clinical centers working in cooperation with screening sites throughout the United States and other countries. This network is dedicated to the study, prevention and early treatment of type 1 diabetes
You can help by participating in this clinical study. Participants in the study must be between 1 and 45 years of age and are a first degree relative (sibling, child, or parent) of an individual with Type 1 diabetes. Or, if you are between 1 and 20 years of age with a second degree relative (cousin, aunt/uncle, nephew/niece, or grandparent) of an individual with Type 1 diabetes.
