Billings Clinic Cody opens infusion center
Cody, WY— Billings Clinic Cody is opening its infusion center on Monday, September 17, 2012. The newly remodeled and expanded infusion center will provide space that is specifically designed and dedicated to care for patients while they are receiving infusion services.
The infusion center is able to provide infusion services including chemotherapy treatments for up to three patients at a time. The new center provides a spacious environment that is nearly 600 square feet and features large picture windows that offer peaceful river and mountain views. Linda Allen, a certified oncology nurse that has been part of the Billings Clinic Cancer Center in Billings, has relocated to join the Billings Clinic Cody team and will be assisting patients during their infusion services.
Billings Clinic Cody announced last July that they would be expanding services this fall to include medical oncology and infusion for patients in need of oncology care in the North-Central Wyoming Region. With an estimated 500 new cancer patients being diagnosed per year residing in the Big Horn Basin area Billings Clinic Cody is creating the Billings Clinic Cody Cancer Program with a full time cancer care team that includes a medical oncologist, a mid-level provider, and nursing staff that is trained to care for the specific needs of patients with cancer.
Billings Clinic Cody plans to provide medical oncology care by November 1, 2012 with the addition of a new medical oncologist living in Cody as a full time physician working at Billings Clinic Cody. Until that physician is established at the Cody clinic, the current physician oncology schedule with oncologists from Billings Clinic Cancer Center in Billings will continue.
