Billings Clinic’s mission is to provide health care, education and research. Our goal is to bring the benefits of the newest medical research to physicians and their patients, and to provide a clinical and laboratory-based medical research focus.
Research studies are offered at Billings Clinic through:
The Research Center was founded in 1988 and opened a new state-of-the-art facility on the campus of Billings Clinic in 2002. As the largest clinical research center in a 600-mile radius, the facility has over 22,500 square feet and 25 full-time trained staff in clinical research.
The Research Center is involved in phase I, II, III, and IV clinical research studies working with over 100 providers and their staff who are trained in clinical research. Our affiliation with Billings Clinic allows us to provide clinical research studies of human disease in many different areas including: (but not limited to) nutrition, new drugs, vaccines, biologics (immune system medications), genomics (the study of gene structure), and medical devices
We are involved in research in the following departments at Billings Clinic: cardiology/vascular diseases, endocrine/nutritional, metabolic diseases, internal medicine, pulmonary diseases, rheumatology, osteoarthritis, women's health, ophthalmology, podiatry, vaccines, genomics, and neurology.
We also work with Billings Clinic's seven branch clinics and regional clinics in order to increase the number of physician referrals and bring clinical research to these rural areas. Since 1998, we have participated in more than 250 clinical trials with over 5,000 volunteers (patients with a condition or a disease). Through research, the Research Center is helping people stay healthy or optimize the treatment of their medical conditions. Learn more about Billings Clinic Research Center.
Science Expo - The Research Center also annually conducts a regional Science Expo to invest in and support youth from 26 counties.
At Billings Clinic Cancer Center, our goal is to provide state-of-the-art cancer care, which includes a quality research program. We provide access to a variety of clinical trials for cancer prevention, treatment, investigational drugs, and symptom management. As medical science continues to make break-through findings, access to clinical trials has become essential to receiving the most up-to-date treatments. At any one time, we participate in 120+ clinical trials that are available for different cancer diagnoses, spanning phases I to III.
