With the da Vinci® Surgical System, specialists at Billings Clinic have an alternative to traditional open surgery and conventional laparoscopy. Robotic assisted surgery puts a surgeon’s hands at the controls of state-of-the-art robotic equipment.

Robotic-assisted surgery enables surgeons to perform even the most complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions with extreme precision.

• kidney cancer
• hysterectomy
• uterine fibroid removal
• uterine or cervical cancer
• uterine or vaginal prolapse repair

During a robotics procedure, surgeons make small incisions in the chest, abdomen, or pelvic area to serve as ports for the robot’s instruments. While one physician stands at the patient’s side, the other sits at a console where he or she has an up-close view of the inside of the area where the surgery is being performed and controls the fine movements of the robot’s instruments.
