Pioneer Medical Center and Billings Clinic expanding affiliation relationship

Billings, MT— Pioneer Medical Center (PMC) located in Big Timber, Montana, and Billings Clinic have signed a formal affiliation agreement to structure a new governance arrangement between the two organizations. Pioneer Medical Center has been an affiliate of Billings Clinic since 1997 and Billings Clinic will continue to provide management services for Pioneer Medical Center and employ the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as well as some of the medical staff.   Additionally, Billings Clinic will appoint two members of the governing board of Pioneer Medical Center.  To continue the long supportive relationship with Sweet Grass County, the Board of Directors will include one seat designated for a Sweet Grass County Commissioner.

The relationship between PMC and Billings Clinic focuses on collaboration intended to enhance patient care in Big Timber and the surrounding area.  Billings Clinic and Pioneer Medical Center will work jointly to find new processes and opportunities that will improve access, quality, and service.

Pioneer Medical Center is a 25 bed critical access hospital, licensed for both acute and long-term care services. Additional services at PMC are provided through their rural health clinic, hospice, ambulance service, public health, and assisted living services.  Patients at PMC will receive care from one of five providers and interact with many of the 140 other employees who work together to deliver a high quality experience for every patient and guest. 

Pioneer Medical Center is one of eleven health care organizations in Montana and Wyoming that are affiliated with Billings Clinic which is based in Billings, Montana.  Billings Clinic has affiliation relationships with Pioneer Medical Center, Glendive Medical Center, Colstrip Medical Center, North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell, Wyoming, Daniels Memorial Health Care in Scobey, Beartooth Billings Clinic in Red Lodge, Stillwater Billings Clinic in Columbus, Livingston HealthCare, Roundup Memorial Healthcare, Wheatland Memorial Healthcare in Harlowton, and Sheridan Memorial HealthCare in Plentywood.
