Billings American Legion Baseball hosts "Legion Against Cancer"
Funds raised benefit the Kelker’s Kids fund through Billings Clinic Foundation
Billings, MT— Billings American Legion Baseball's seventh annual "Legion Against Cancer" is taking place on Friday, June 2 at Dehler Park during a double header. The Cardinals will take on the Blue Jays at 4 p.m. and the Royals play the Scarlets at 7:30 p.m. A ceremony to honor people who have battled cancer will start at 7 p.m. The games will benefit Billings Clinic Foundation’s Kelker’s Kids fund, which helps families of children battling cancer and other serious blood disorders.
Fans can buy a virtual seat for $25 or make a donation of their choice to honor someone who has battled cancer. With a donation, attendees can upload a message and a photo to be broadcast on the score board during the games. The dedications will stay on the Billings American Legion Baseball website throughout the baseball season. Raffle tickets will also be sold for $20 at the game as well as at all Billings Cellular Plus locations, Stewart Park softball field complex and American Legion Post 4 leading up to the game.
All donations will go to Kelker’s Kids, and players will wear jerseys with the names of Billings Clinic pediatric oncology kids. The Fund was established at Billings Clinic Foundation to financially assist families of children with cancer and blood disorders during difficult times. Assistance ranges from providing funds for travel necessary for cancer treatment to helping make ends meet. The Fund also supports gatherings and activities allowing the kids to experience the joys of being a child.
