Your cancer care team may include the following medical professionals:

  • Pathologists—Diagnose and determine the type, stage and grade of your cancer and recommend effective treatment options
  • Radiologists—Read and interpret your imaging tests
  • Medical oncologists—Treat your cancer with drugs
  • Radiation oncologists—Treat your cancer with radiation therapy
  • Surgical oncologists—Use surgery to remove and treat your cancer
  • Nurses—Assess, educate, and care for you

They work together to provide the best possible care by coordinating your care and using research-based treatments.

Providers and staff from different areas collaborate on specific cancer programs for breast, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, head and neck, blood, and lung cancers. These teams meet regularly to set or adjust treatment goals to improve the effectiveness of your care.

Rely on your team for medical treatment and to help maintain your overall well-being. You’ll have access to a wide range of support services to help you feel as comfortable as possible, including:

Virtual Cancer Care

If you have recently been diagnosed with breast, esophageal, head and neck, lung, or rectal cancer, you can meet with all your cancer specialists through a virtual clinic (online appointment). It allows you to meet with each cancer specialist and learn about each treatment option. A patient care navigator will help you through scheduling.

You may see all your providers on the same day or over three days. After your evaluation, the team will create a personalized treatment plan for you.
