What to Expect
Before your visit, you’ll receive a questionnaire [PDF] to fill out. Your answers help us understand your specific health concerns and how they affect your life. Bring your complete questionnaire to your appointment.
At your appointment with a urogynecology doctor, you’ll:
- Give a urine sample to check for a urinary tract infection before testing your bladder function
- Have a physical exam like a regular gynecologic exam, focusing on bladder support, uterus position, vagina and rectum
- Have a pelvic floor muscle strength and pain check while lying or standing
After your exam and tests, you and your doctor will talk about your treatment options. Your doctor will answer your questions and help you feel comfortable with your treatment decisions.
