IRA Rollover
As Billings Clinic Foundation looks to the future, we are so grateful for caring friends like you who partner with us so that we can provide advanced technology, medical excellence and compassionate care. We wouldn’t be here without your support, encouragement and loyalty.
Thanks to now-permanent legislation, there is a way you can support Billings Clinic through your individual retirement plan – it’s called the IRA Charitable Rollover. The law allows individuals who are 70 ½ years of age or older to make tax-free distributions from their IRAs directly to qualified charitable organizations like Billings Clinic Foundation. Additionally, an IRA Charitable Rollover may fulfill all of part of your required minimum distribution.
Leaving a Legacy Through Your IRA Rollover
An IRA rollover—also known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)—is a powerful way to combine philanthropy and financial strategy. If you’re age 70½ or older, you can transfer up to $108,000 per year directly from your IRA without including that amount in taxable income.
This Type of Gift:
- Reduces your taxable income, even if you don’t itemize deductions
- Counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution, helping you satisfy this requirement with tax efficiency
- Brings immediate impact, allowing you to see your philanthropy at work now
For additional flexibility, the Legacy IRA Act lets donors make a one-time QCD up to $50,000 to fund a charitable gift annuity or remainder trust, giving you income for life as you support philanthropy.
These strategies not only help you reduce income or estate taxes but also ensure your legacy takes shape today—through living application and impact.
