Please print out and complete the forms below and submit to the Training Center along with a copy of the front and back of your BLS card. These must be turned in at least 1 week prior to class for your registration to be complete.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor Course is intended for all individuals whose primary focus is education and training of healthcare providers and the general public in proper cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques. The American Heart Association states, "An AHA Instructor Course teaches the methods needed to effectively instruct others in resuscitation courses. The AHA requires that Instructors be at least 16 years of age for Heartsaver Instructor and BLS Instructor courses". Skills taught include BLS Provider technique and methodology, effective modes of instruction for specific courses, documentation compliance with AHA guidelines and much more.
Pre-Course Requirements:
- Please print the BLS Instructor Candidate Workbook and bring to class along with your instructor manual.

- Current CPR Certification:
A current American Heart Association card is required in the discipline you wish to teach (BLS for Healthcare Provider, or Heartsaver CPR/AED). You will need to demonstrate your CPR skills and knowledge during the course.
- Complete the American Heart Association Instructor Online Course and submit copy of certificate upon completion. You will need to purchase this when you register for this class and it will be sent to you prior to class.
Completion Requirements:
The student instructor is required to teach 2 classes within 90 days of taking the BLS Instructor Course. The teaching must be completed with Billings Clinic Training Center Faculty. After you demonstrate these teaching abilities and competencies, you will be issued an instructor card.
Please arrive 5 minutes before the class starts so that we can begin on time. If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the class begins, you will not be admitted to class. You will need to reschedule for another session at your own expense.
