Billings Clinic, a Billings, MT based multi-specialty clinic is seeking a neurologist. Responsibilities include: Treat and diagnosis brain and central nervous system disorders and diseases. Examine patients suffering from neurological disorders, such as seizure disorders, Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s disease. Determine the cognitive abilities of the patient through mathematical problems, memory tests and questions. Examine patients to determine cranial nerve function, motor skills and sensory system. Order diagnostic tests to identify neurological disorders such as blood tests and analysis of the patient’s spinal fluid. Order imaging tests such as magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography and single photon emission computed tomography. Order biopsy and other diagnostic tests -- such as electroencephalography, or EEG -- to detect and identify neurological and central nervous system disorders. Develop a treatment plan for patients after diagnosing a disorder or condition. For example, treatments such as anti-epileptic medications help patients with epilepsy. May also recommend surgical procedures for neurological patients, such as brain stimulation. Consult with neurosurgeons on procedures and treatment. Monitor the patient’s progress during treatment to determine its effectiveness. Direct the activities of nurses and medical technicians in the treatment of patients. Direct therapeutic personnel and the staff performing diagnostic testing.
Graduate of approved medical school, presently licensed in Montana eligible for licensure. Board certified in neurology or eligible within one year. A one-year residency in internal medicine and a three-year fellowship in neurology required. Licensed in the state of Montana or presently eligible for licensure.
